What do the Metrics on Business Analytics Mean?

Last updated over 3 years ago

This article is designed to help you better understand the metrics, or the headers, in the the Business Analytics table.

  • Total Orders - This is the sum of orders that the SKU, Brand, Product Group (or whichever pivot you're viewing) accrued in the selected time period (Duration).
  • Units Sold & Units/Order - In the Cumulative View, Units Sold will display the total number of units of each pivot (SKU, Brand...) within the duration you selected. In the Average View, this metric becomes Units/Order. This displays the average number of units for orders that involved this pivot (SKU, Brand....) over the selected duration.
    • For example: You have two orders that have 1 unit of SKUabc each. You have another order that has 2 units of SKUabc. Your Units/Order will be 1.33 for SKUabc.
  • Item Price - This is what your SKU is listed for on each marketplace. In Zentail, it is your Sale Price (or your channel override sale price if you're using one). In the Cumulative View, this sums the item price for every order within your selected duration. In the Average View, this takes the average for your SKUs at the time the order was placed.
    • For example: You're Duration is set to 30 days. 25 days ago you sell SKUabc for $10.00. Then, you change the item price of that SKU to $9.00. Then, you sell two more units of SKUabc. Your average item price is $9.33.
  • Shipping Price - This is what the customer pays for shipping for each order. Your Cumulative View will sum this value for the duration you've selected and the Average View will find the average.
    • When there are multiple or different SKUs within an order, we proportionately allocate shipping price to each SKU in the order.
  • Tax - This is the tax charged for each order. Your Cumulative View will sum this value for the duration you've selected and the Average View will find the average.
    • When there are multiple or different SKUs within an order, we proportionately allocate tax to each SKU in the order.
  • Total Sales Volume - This can be considered your gross revenue. It's the sum of Item Price and Shipping Price. Tax is not included in your Total Sales Volume.
    • Please  note that the Total Sales Volume in the Average View may be slightly different than your Item Price + Shipping Price due to rounding.
