What happens to existing eBay listings after I integrate with Zentail?

Last updated over 3 years ago

When you integrate Zentail with eBay, as long as your SKU values align, we will link to the listings.

Limits of linking to existing eBay listings

Linking to an existing listing has its limits as per eBay policies. In most cases, you are able to edit sales data but the extent to which you can edit a listing depends on if a purchase has been made. The most common issue we see when linking to an existing listing is the inability to edit variation information. You may see an error that says you cannot edit information in a "Restricted Revise". For more information on that please see the "Fixed Price" section on this eBay Knowledge Base article: Restrictions on a restricted revise.

**Coming Soon**: We are working on a feature that allows you to update everything that is editable on a restricted revise

Manually Entering eBay Item ID to link listings

An eBay item ID is a number unique to each listing. Our system automatically detects the eBay item ID. In the event that we do not detect the ID, It can be found in these ways:
  1. Top right corner of the listing
  2. In the Purchase History section of the My eBay page, in parenthesis besides the title
  3. In the e-mail notification that you receive when you end a listing
How to Enter the eBay item ID:
  1. Obtain the eBay item ID for the listing directly from eBay
  2. Go to your catalog page
  3. Click on the SKU of interest
  4. Click on advanced options on the eBay card
  5. Click set eBay item ID
  6. Enter the eBay item ID
  7. Click Update
After a few minutes the SKU should link to the existing listing and an eye icon will appear. Note you may see certain errors pertaining to "SKU not found" or "this item has been deleted" etc. These errors will typically go away in time after the eBay item ID is linked.

Deleting and Re-listing from Zentail

If you want Zentail to be able to control everything on a listing - you will have to end the listing on eBay and relist it from Zentail. This will give us full control of the listing and allow us to make immediate changes. To list from Zentail, simply make sure all the product data is in Zentail and that the SKU is set to list then under the advanced options on the eBay card click "update and push". We will create the listing and generate an eBay item ID.
