How is Bisala Emu Oil made?

Last updated about 7 years ago

Emu is derived from the fat of a large flight-less bird indigenous to Australia. Emu Oil is a by-product of the emu meat industry. The emu oil used in my blends was not cultivated for their oil but instead for meat with the oil being a by-product of that process. If you are vegan or vegetarian, then you won’t want to use emu oil.

Bisala's supply of emu oil is hormone-free and the birds are raised in a free-range environment.

Bisala's oil is made using a natural 4-step process:

  1. Rendering
  2. Refinement
  3. Deodorization
  4. Certification

My oil is made following FDA Defined HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices. Bisala’s emu oil is independently tested and approved by a certified AOCS chemist according to the American Emu Association Trade Rules and carries the AEA “Certified Fully Refined” Seal.

Bisala’s oil is the highest grade possible called Ultra Emu Oil.  It was developed by a proprietary process that has been proven to increase emu oil’s natural activity by 45%*.  Emu oil processed through this method has shown to highlight the natural properties of emu oil and increase its efficacy over unprocessed emu oil.  Shop Now
