Are the ingredients organic, cruelty-free, GMO-free and free of antibiotics, hormones, and pesticides?

Unfortunately there is no certification for organic emu oil. All emus that are a sourced for my oil supply are raised in large open fields. There are no such thing as factory farms with emus. It is a very humane industry. My oil is refined with a natural product in mind. There are no chemicals used at any step of the process.  My oil consistently exceeds the standards of the American Emu Associate. These standards were created using edible oil standards from the American Oil Chemist Society as its benchmark. They ensure that only safe and authentic emu oil is introduced to the consumer.

GMO free bird feed is difficult to come by and is expensive.  However, my oil supplier makes every farmer sign a substance avoidance form that states their birds are free of antibiotics, hormones, and pesticides.  I can get you a copy if you'd like.  Just email me at mary@bisala.com to make your request.

Bisala's emu oil is sourced only from a cruelty-free supplier where the birds are raised in a free-range environment.  The birds are not harvested for their oil.  The oil is a by-product of the emu meat industry.
