Social Workers (ASWB) Credit Designation

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Amedco is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Amedco maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 12.00 GENERAL continuing education credits.

* WV accepts ASWB ACE unless activity is in live in West Virginia then an application is required.

Amedco SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0115. 12.00 hours.
 
New York Board for Mental Health Counselors (NY MHC)
Amedco is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. #MHC-0061. 12.00 hours.
 
New York Board for Marriage & Family Therapists (NY MFT)
Amedco is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed marriage and family therapists. #MFT-0032. 12.00 hours.

New York Board for Psychology (NY PSY)
Amedco is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists #PSY-0031. 12.00 hours.

Objectives - After Attending This Program You Should Be Able To
1. Describe the rationale, structure and targets for skills training.
2. Discuss methods about how to engage and manage skills groups with teens and families.
3. Identify how to apply orientation and commitment strategies to teens and families.
4. Describe the biosocial theory of emotional dysregulation among youth.
5. Identify the rationale and methods of teaching mindfulness skills.
6. Describe how to teach distress tolerance skills.
7. Discuss the adolescent-family dialectical dilemmas, dialectical thinking and acting and how to teach validation and behavior change strategies to teens and parents (walking the middle path skills).
8. Identify methods of teaching emotion regulation skills.
9. Identify examples of how to effectively teach interpersonal effectiveness skills.
10. Identify how to provide skills coaching in individual, group, parent and family sessions.
