What materials or textbooks do I need for the course?

There are required readings for this online training. The first three books in this list are included with the cost of the program and will be available in your course library as downloadable PDFs on the course start date. Books 4 and 5 will need to be purchased by you but are not required until later in the DBT Foundational course.

4.  A book on behavioral principles (choose one): 
      a. Ramnerö, J., Törneke, N. (2008). The ABCs of human behavior: behavioral principles for the practicing clinician. Oakland: Context Press. 
      b. Pryor, K. (1999). Don't shoot the dog!: The new art of teaching and training. New York: Bantam Books. 

5.  A book on exposure therapy (choose one, based on the population you treat): 
      a. Foa, E.B., Hembree, E.A, & Rothbaum, B.O. (2007). Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD (Therapist Guide). New York: Oxford University Press. 
      b. Foa, E.B., Chrestman, K.R., & Gilboa-Schechtman, E. (2008). Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Adolescents with PTSD Emotional Processing of Traumatic        Experiences (Therapist Guide). New York: Oxford University Press.
